“I grew up in a tiny, rural town where drugs are really big and there really aren’t that many opportunities. When I graduated high school, I started going to this community college and realized I was never going to make it. Instead, I decided to move to England for a few years and get my life together. Luckily I did.

I came back to the United States after living in England for three years, and started going back to school. I was older than everyone else, and I didn’t really fit in. I wanted to work, but I also wanted to get a degree. It was really hard for me to do all those things because there’s little time, and frankly, I just didn’t fit the student mold.

Now I work at a university, and I’m in charge of the online learning element. That’s why I love working in online education: It’s all about providing more flexible options for students. I’m making it so they can achieve their degree goals, even if they can’t sit in a classroom or they’re not a traditional student. I love making an impact in the lives of our students.”
