“The most scared moment in my life was when I was homeless in Little Rock. I had a gun pointed at my head at least three times that I can remember. I don’t remember how, but somehow I woke up in the grass at a Pentecostal church. There, I met a man named Benny. He asked me if I wanted to be baptized, and so I told him, “Yes.” After I was baptized, he bought me clothes and asked me if I needed a bus ticket. I told him that I wanted to come back home. Since there were no buses that ran from Little Rock to Cape, Benny drove me all the way himself. I won’t ever forget that.”
