“My favorite part about the Cape community is the Christmas parade. So many people stand out there and cheer you on even though they don’t know who you are. They see SEMO athletics and cheer on the football team, softball team, soccer team, and all the other teams. It’s amazing hearing them shout for us and hearing the kids yell out, ‘Go SEMO!’. It’s so great how many people in Cape support us.

“A lot of people inspire me who make me want to work harder. One person from my hometown is my niece. She makes me work as hard as I possibly can. I want to show her that just because we grow up in a small town, don’t have the best life, you can beat the odds no matter what. Another person is Paul. Coach Paul taught me that impossible is nothing. It’s amazing that both Paul and Heather will always stand beside you and always be there to catch you when you fall.

“Soccer’s taught me to live everyday like it’s your last. You don’t get those moments with your teammates forever and the moments you do get are amazing. The bonds you create, the good times you have together, that’s your family. This last season was the best season I’ve ever had with the girls. They’re amazing and I miss them like crazy and I wish we had more time together. I know they’re going to be great next year and I can’t wait to see what they have.”
